Hey i have discussed this with the guys at H20 injection. com but the site seems to be down indefinitively... now im thinking on in a future using propane as the way to add fuel to any nitrous addition to my engine and was wondering if anyone else had researched something along the same lines..

Now you may ask why i just dont get a wet system and call it a day...

There are 2 reasons i think the idea of a propane fuel source is a better idea

A) you lessen the risk of leaning your complete system cause you overtaxed your gasoline pump (you still run the risk of running lean if your propane does not inject for any reason)

B) you automatically are injecting a fuel with higher octane rating (110+ octane)... very very cold ...and we know how much better a turbocharged engine works with colder air in if it can compensate with fuel

First off to build a N2O/C3H8 system that runs near ideal (read on the rich side) ..so that it results in (THIS SHOULD BE THE IDEAL COMBUSTION...WE WANT TO RUN A TAD RICH THOUGH ...Combustion of 10(N2O):1(C3H8) would lead to this exhaust 10 N2 + 3 CO2 + 4 H2O right on stoich...)

I need to determine what proportion of each to run....think 10:1.3??

Now It would be awesome if we could find a way to proportion this through solenoids like N2O kit solenoids...see think twitch had all this figured out

Any chemists/People with experience running propane, other wana give it a stab??

(BTW i think i read that those guys that were using this to actualy lower detonation on turbo cars were using regular N2O fitting ect to run the propane..that would be prety kewl particularly if i find a DOT aprooved bottle to run in a dual Nitrous bottle Holder...)

Give me an equation and I'll balance it. I think you might could rig up a wet kit and instead of getting the fuel from your fuel rail, you could get it from the propane tank. I'm sure one of the fuel jets is equivalent to the molar ratio that you'll want to achieve. I had chem last semester so I'm pretty up if you want any help. Also, I know IPO sells a nice propane kit. They're doing a group buy on 3si.org now which is bumping the price down to about 250 or so. ($100 savings)

I'm not sure on the chemical ratios, I've never run a n2o system, or propane. But this sounds like a good project for a megasquit! ;)

Hehehe i know megasquirt is good...but remember what im trying to device here is a mechanically controled (like a wet nitrous sys...just that injecting propane instead of gas)


Shit i need a test engine to blow the fuck out of...the 2.0 would have been the perfect victim if it wouldent have allready done itself in ....

Get a wet kit and convert the fuel side to propane and figure out your jetting. Very simple. With this, MS could actually control it. :thumbsup

I've been spraying a 75 on 87octane and only getting 1-3 counts of knock on the logger. I'm not sure if 110 octane is necessary. I'm sure it all depends on your setup.

why complicate the problem? Just run race fuel :shrug
