79983, nitrous gauge question
Posted by siueclipse, Dec-02-04 12:11 PM
alright, im about to create a 3 gauge holder for my center vents which will also hold my apexi tt. i have two gauges that im going to use. eventually i might run nitrous and i was wondering if this gauge will work for just about any nitrous system or if there are certain gauges which are best. id like to go ahead and get the nitrous gauge and have it installed.

i assumed that the nitrous gagues can be electric like everything else can be. i assumed it would have a sending unit. if not.. oh well.

uhhhhh.. whats the big deal of mounting it the cockpit?

its nitrous, not mustard gas!

i had mine in the cock pit without any issue at all....theres not really any saftey issue that i can think of.
no point is spending all the extra dough for an electric one. theres no point in not mounting a non-electric one, other than running the s/s braided line.

better yet, ill post it here and that way anyone can search and answer their own question some day (like that will happen lol). when i bought my kit, there was an on-bottle type gauge (small one) that attatched inline via a distribution block. it was/is a blue peice of andonized aluminum with had provsions for mounting a gauge on top. it was just a octagonal barrel, with 1 male and 1 female end, and a drilled and tapped hole up top to screw in your gauge. the gauge i got came with one transducer (small brass fitting with itty bitty hole in it) already installed on the gauge and another that screws into this port. then you just attatch your line at the block, and run it up to your gauge. rather than running a shitload more line, i decided to mount the block up in the engine bay. i took the distribution block, screwed it into the IN connection on the nitrous solenoid(female to male respectivaly), and then of course connected the main feed line from the bottle to the male connection on the block. here is a fast diagram
