7981, Just found what my BOV will be

I was set on the TurboXS type H until I saw this http://www.machv.com/turrflblowva.html I know there's more to BOVs than being loud but if its louder than the type H it must be insane. MachV claims its the loudest they've ever heard. Called type RFL (real fuckin loud) it outta be. Plus no anodized purple to clash with the blue. Now I need to find the universal kit from somewhere (go figure the only thing I can buy from Mach V since TurboXS cost the same just about everywhere and they dont list universal).

i disco'd the line that runs my BOV back into the intake(put their to make it quiet) and plugged the intake hole and my 1g BOV is loud as hell. can here it over the stereo sometimes. i gotta ditch it for a new one soon cause i'm at 15psi and that's where they are known to start leaking.

What are you using for correction, Chris?

You know that tube is there for a reason. Air leaving through the BOV has already been metered by your MAS. That tube reinserts it into the system after the MAS, so no loss of metered air.

Basically, when you dump all that air out of the system through your BOV, you're getting a spike of fuel. The air has already been metered, the amount of fuel already calculated, then that air is gone: excess fuel. It's a bad thing.

Does it bog slightly when you shift? Smoke a little?

Buy an SAFC (which can correct for that) or put that tube back on. You'll thank me later.

the 1G BOV doesn't leak at 17psi. its been used on 11sec cars, just the 2G sucks. the 1G is good, keep it (and keep it recirculated as Darkone has described the problems with open venting and MAS).

yeah, definitely listen to them. me and my friend disconnected that return hose from his Greddy Type-S bov on his 95 GSX. let's just say it didn't work out quite as planned. the bov was definitely louder, but the rpm's wouldn't hold when you left off the gas after acceleration. they would drop to about 200-300rpms and the car would either bog it's way back up or die. more often than not the latter :P it also idled really rough when you started it. basically just caused alot of problems. needless to say the hose has now been reconnected.

1G BOV's are good for like 30psi when "crushed"
