79743, spooling Posted by cseithel, Nov-29-04 07:04 AM
For all you guys with t3/t4, or star kits, at what rpm are you at full boost? What psi are you at when you get there? I am just trying to get a feel for how fast these turbos should spool and where i should be at. It seems like mine is spooling a little late but i have nothing to compare it too.
Ah hell, lets just say anyone with any size turbo, post up your spool times even if you are running a 4g63 because that would be helpful too. Everyone be honest please. Thanks guys!

my hrc kit w/16g hits 10psi around 4-4500 rpms. maybe a little quicker with the new injectors but i really didnt get a chance to test it before the clutch went.

injectors effect boost response? mmmm.. interesting..

my 20g spools at 4500rpm because of my cams and build head. and since i have 8 injectors it spools very quickly... :rolleyes

i had a 2.5" turbo-back setup with test pipe, t3/t4 50trim with a .63 stage 2 exhaust side and would see 9psi in 1st gear at 4400, 9psi in 2-3rd gear by 3700...

I was just going to post about that same topic. Also what would be the difference in spool time using a t3/t4 on a 2.5 exhaust compared with a 3" exhaust at 7psi?

the t3/t4 is a very efficient and great power making turbo, IMO much more so than a 16 ever will be, a 16g will only spool a hair faster but wont make anywhere near the power...drop the extra for a BB t3/t4 and it will spool the same as a 16g...wooo
