7945, serious questions Posted by aj, Sep-02-01 10:43 AM I have a MSD DIS-2 here w/ me and a tach adapter(p/n 8920).The booklet that came w/ the dis-2 said we're supposed to use the tach w/ p/n 8912.What gives?I'm confused w/c one we really need and summit ain't really helpfull.The thing is the dual ignition adapter(8912)is on back order for up to two months!.So,can I use this 8920 on our car?I read the archives and I guess they got away w/ using just one tach adapter and a cel.But they used another part number(8910).DO we need one or two?W/c one do we really need?I'm desperate.I don't wanna return the msd to summit and find out i can use it as it is,w/ the tach adapter(8920).If not,I don't wanna wait two months for another one.Please help me out guys.BTW,this is the only thing holding back my rebuild from completion! | |

7946, RE: serious questions Posted by XavierS, Sep-02-01 11:05 AM All you need is one tach adapter. As for the part number, I'm not quite sure what it is. I will look it up for you when I get home. I have an MSD unit on my car and it works great. All the tach adapter really does is keeps the check engine light off. It's fairly simple to hook up. I will take a look at my setup at home and get back to you on this question. | |
