It's a waste, our 4 cylinder motors will make more efficient use of a turbo than a supercharger. The belt drives off the engine giving the car more power sure but at the same time this is putting a load on the motor robbing it at the same time. Turbo is the most efficent way to with our cars. ;)

So turbos don't put a load on the motor? :)

Not like a supercharger. Superchargers are belt driven so the belt puts the load directly on the crank. Turbos work much more efficient on our cars. That's why you don't see too many supercharged 4 cylinders. I'm no expert by any means but I'm just going by the numebers I've seen with turbo 4 cylinders vs supercharged.

It's all about where the power band on the motor is.

Agreed, your going to see the low end power but I would gladly live with the lag over the power your going to see with the supercharger

honestly, I say that untill you witness it, you should stop trying to make yourself seem knowledgable in the subject.

James, your post in this thread was pointless. You seem to make more than your fair share of dumb questions and comments on this board. Please point out to me what is wrong with what I said oh wise one. If you don't have anything positive to add to this then your just making noise.

I point blank said I was no expert but you can do a search online and find just about anywhere that will tell you the pros and cons of supercharging vs turbocharging. Turbocharged motors have the biggest downside of course being lag as opposed to supercharged motors where the power is very fast unless you go with a centrifugal supercharger which spools like a turbo. Turbos offer the advantage of very minimal parasitic drain on the engine and on a 4 cylinder motor this makes all the differnce in the world. To see the all out true potential of our motors the only way to go is turbocharged.

Please show me where siueclipse has even romotely proven that wrong?

In any case, I spoke to that guy 2 weeks ago; I wanted to go by and take a look at it up close just out of curiosity but never got around to it. He doesnt know anything about modding these cars though. He said theres 2 supercharged 2gnts in the south runnning 18+ boost with built motors and 550cc's. He flew down to FL to pick up the kit.

I would be interested in seeing what kind of power they make. If they made "decent" power they could still be good for autocross applications.
