78372, ok .1st turbo install questions... pls help. Posted by 97grnRS, Oct-20-04 04:12 AM
well i have searched and ive found some info for what i wanna do but not all. i have a 97 RS . and i have 2 subaru IHI Rbh5 turbos . one to use and one for extra. i can make the flanges and stuff to make it all work but 1st : this will be run on a stock engine. 2.0 non turbo. i will be using a small intercooler ( i was told a big front mount is not going to work for a small turbo ? true or no? ) 2nd: all i currently have is the turbo no injectors or any type of fuel management , the stock setting of the waste gate is 8psi. is this too much to run on stock motor safely forever? if not how can i adjust wastegate to reduce to about 6 ? 3rd: what kind of fuel management or injectors or anything should i also get to help make it run well? list anything else i may need. i dont want to spend alot so even no name brand stuff will work if its good.. please let me know.. thanks

your gonna have to get a different spring in the wastegate to adjust the boost lower if you want that (recommended) the fmic's efficency will be horribly low with a small turbo, you need better fuel managment, safc and injectors would be a start. i have no intentions of turbo'ing my car, but i did use the search function on this site. LOOK WHAT I LEARNED DADDY!

yeah better fuel management, aftermarket exhaust (at least 2.5"), oil lines, etc. But yeah, you should really search. There is a lot of info/answers to what you're asking.
