77742, Can someone help me Posted by DJ420a, Oct-07-04 05:34 PM
Alright look, I have everything I need to install my turbo. I was going to have a guy I know install it for me cuz he's probably done that more than Ive been laid. Anyways, Ive been trying to get ahold of him for the past 3 weeks and he hasnt returned my calls. I dont know maybe hes busy or something. The only reason I didnt want to attempt is cuz Ive never done it. Well the past day or two Ive been thinking about doin it myself, but the prob is, like I said I dont know what to do. I know the basics, like where stuff goes, but I dont know the basic tuning and what not.
So if anyone knows of a write up or can help with this, I would love to give it a shot and finally know how to do it. I have already rebuilt my motor twice and Ive been working under hoods since I was 15. So Im definitley not a BANME! unber the hood.
Thanx peoples

then what are you worried for?
If youve done some rebuilds , then this is nothing compared to that.
What is it that you need help with?

do it. the install is easy compared to buildin a motor. its really hard to f*** up the tuning part, as long as you have egt gauge, fuel pressure, and 02 volts your set. in boost your shootin for .93 volts other than that just get ur idel smooth, then test and tune. just be easy on the car till you get it close. don't be scared

You see, right now until me and Mr SLick hook up to install the MS, Im runnin stock injectors. So this is whats buggn me.
What disc and spring to put in the SFMU Should I even mess with the SAFC at first Is there a setting that needs messed with on the wastegate same for the BOV what should the fuel pressure be does the boost line on the turbo go to the wastegate does the boost controller go in between that where do I hook up the BOV(meaning the back air fitting)
the bolt on are easy, I have no prob with that. its the small things I dont know what goes where and what to set them at.

Every single one of those questions can be answered using the advanced search. I should know because I used it to find those exact answers when I installed my kit.

I'm bored so here you go.
I don't know much about the sfmu, never really used it, changed my mind before I installed it.
You should be able to just leave the wastegate and bov alone, although I don't know what kind they are, but it shouldn't matter.
Your fuel pressure is going to depend on the size injectors you are using as well as it will rise while in boost because of the sfmu.
Yes, the boost line on the turbo goes to the wastegate, and yes the boost controller goes in between them.
I don't know what you mean by a back air fitting.
That should help for now, but like I said, it depends on your setup.

I wouldn't even mess with the SAFC unless you are dynoing or tuning based on your A/F ratio on a open country road. I don't know if you have a wideband or a A/F guage....

Until I get the MS, I only have and EGT and A/F for now. When I have the MS I will have a wideband.
