76610, RUNNING LEAN! WFT? Posted by Dirty, Sep-20-04 02:11 PM
Yesterday I was doing some pulls on the highway and I noticed I'm running leaner than I have been. It was like .94 to.97. Today I was doing some more runs and got a .84 This sucks! After the first day I turned the fuel psi up and today I was leaner. This whole time I was running .99 to 1.03 and my fuel psi was set at 22psi. I don't know what the static was. Now I'm at 30 psi and running even leaner. It has been alot cooler for thpast few days, but damn! What gives? I can't blow my shit up right now, I don't have the funds. HELP ME!
EDIT: I'm using the S-FMU and 30lb. injectors. I'm not sure what disc is in there. It's the one that came in it from Summit and has worked just fine until now.

Check the fuel lines. That happened to me actually where I the more I stepped on the gas, the leaner it became. Turned out there was a sharp kink on my fuel line from the pump, to the inline fuel pump. I just wiggled it a tad, and it ran perfect. So I did my fuel line after that just to get rid of the sharp turns.

I am using a hardline from the fuel filter up. The stock line from there to the rail and from the rail to the fmu is ss and no kinks. Thanx for the suggestion, but thats not it. Whats everyone's idle and static psi. I'm only running 6 lbs. of boost right now also. I also tried adjusting the fuel psi again last night and no luck. Should I go to 32-34 psi?

Are you sure your o2 sensor isn't crapping out? What are your EGTs? You really can't tune very accurately using the stock o2 sensor. Consider getting a digital wideband meter, they're dirt cheap these days and it's the #1 best investment I've made to date.

My egt's rise high pretty quick. More than usual. The o2 was put on when the turbo was, so it's pretty new. I'm in the process of doing the 8 inj. setup, but until them I need to get my current setup right.
I also noticed that during the day when it's warmer out (still cooler than it has been) I don't run as lean, but still lean. At night when it's in the lower 60's, it runs lean as hell. I don't even wanna boost now, and thats difficult because the turbo spools real easily.

So nobody has any other suggestions for me? What can happen to make my engine run lean all of the sudden? I haven't fucked with anything on it lately. I'm still stuck.
