76490, What happens to your turbo when you max it out??

I'm running the big 16g @ 21psi right now, and I'm told it is already losing efficiency there, and it maxes out at 25psi. What happens if I just uncork the wastegate and run 25psi out my turbo? Will it hurt the turbo or anything else besides the motor obviously?

~20+ PSI is kind of pushing it for your typical 16G. Anything much past 24 PSI with your average 16G is usually really hot air - when you get to this ballpark on boost ratio (boost pressure / atmospheric pressure) adding more boost doesn't give you much more power, and if you really push it, adding more boost can take away power.

does someone know where i can see the mitsubishi turbo compressor maps.i can help you plot the efficiency range on 20+psi, i know for sure it is probably below 65% at that boost pressure, not good.

ok i calculated it as best as i can to maybe close to my setup, and man is it off the chart. i looked at the TD06H-16G big chart i did the calculation with 20psi, and i got a 2.463 pressure ratio and 35.9lbs/min for CMF, ouch time for a new turbo. you're blowing lots of hot air.

i don't get it. how are you calculating this? and what does it mean? or, where did you learn this from?

sorry, i just want to further my knowledge(not too much) on turbo's/pressure. :)
