Is there a trick to get the upper piping with the BOV onto the throttle body and the elbow to go to the 2nd pipe? I'm having a helluva time trying to get the piece to fit through where the factory intake was. I can get one end on, but not the other. I've got the fuse box & the mounting plate loose, but it seems like the upper piping always wants to go in front of the fuse box wire loom instead of behind it, when I've got it on the throttle body. If I put it behind the loom, where I drilled the 3" hole, then I can't get it on the throttle body because the pipe is pushing against the back of the round hole where the factory intake was.

Sorry to be posting so many questions about the install, but Hahn's instructions were made in a perfect world.

I removed the sheet metal and cut the Upic in two pieces for easier removal in the future for minor repairs such as TB, IAc cleaning. Just my opinion.

No need to cut any of the sheet metal except for where Hahn recommends - if you are using the side mount intercooler.

Here is my trick to getting the upper intercooler piping on and off with ease. Take the silicone coupler that connects the pipe to the throttle body and put a good amount of dish soap on the inside of the coupler. Slide the coupler all the way onto the pipe. Loosen and slide two clamps onto the pipe for later. The coupler shouldn't be extending off the end of the pipe. It should look like this:

Black End of Pipe -- Silicone Coupler -- Black End of Pipe

To install the pipe, insert the one end of the pipe through the stock air box mount and into the rubber elbow that connects to the intercooler. Then lower the pipe into position with the intake. It should be easier to lower the pipe into place with the coupler on the pipe and out of the way. Once the pipe is in place, slide the coupler and clamps into position. It should slide very easily since soap was placed on the inside. In time, the soap will dry and disappear.

This is the easiest way I have found to take the pipe on and off. Also do not use oil on the coupler as it could eat the coupler over time.

I still like the two pice UPIC idea. I only have to loosen 3 clamps to get my pipe off. No Need to bust out the 10mm wrench and such.

One advice, remove abour 1/2"-1" width of piping so that the two pieces will not rub and throw metal dust into the combustion chamber.

A drawback I see with cutting the pipes is that it allows for the silicone coupler to become undone. The newer Hahn Racecraft pipes have raised edges on the ends of the pipe to prevent the coupler from just sliding off after tightening down the clamps.

Believe me, without the raised edges, they will come undone. My BOV has blown off of the pipe in the past before I designed a fix.
