76442, Stalling, backfiring, turbo related issues

I have been running a star stage II kit on my car for 3 years now and every year or so I have this issue, but haven't able to narrow down exactly what fixes it.

Symptoms:

Once the car is warm and has been running for 10-15 min it will backfire when slowing to a stop. Then the rpms will drop to nothing and the car will try to stall. I think the stall might be related to the backfire causing pressure on the exhaust valves. The car is running rich and there are no engine codes.

Tried solution:

I replaced the filter in the missinglink and my spark plugs.

Questions:

If the fuel map was changed do to a clogged filter on the missinglink, do I need to reset the ecu for it to go back to normal?

What are other possible causes of my symptoms?

I back check valve inside the tube that goes from your valve cover to the intake mani.

Check your idle air controller. I had one go out one time and it made my car stall every time I stopped. I didn't replace it myself, so I'm not exactly sure what to look for.

Back firing could mean excess fuel in the exhaust...you said you were running rich...try to lean it out a tad. And if it's been doing this for a long time you might have cloged up your cat bad enough to not allow good flow at low RPMs. Just something to think about.

never thought about the bad cat. But I'll defintely be changing that out since he seeme to be a high factor.
