Okay, when I tried to put on my flex section on my Star DP I put it on the very end of the DP so the flange was on the end of the Flex Section. I didn't know that the flange was supposed to be at an angle so when I bolted it up I had a exhaust leak between my DP and testpipe. Now I'm gettin ready to upgrade my exhaust to 3" and I might as well upgrade the DP/ fix the leak. I was thinking of putting a 3" flex section in the downpipe but have a few questions:

1) Do I need a transition pipe for the 2.5" DP to mate to the 3" Flex
2) Where can the 3" flex section fit
3) Do I need to remove the DP to do this? How to exhuast shops get the flanges to match up perfectly?

Take the whole car to the exhaust shop, tell them what you want and go and eat something while they work.

Go back, pay them and enjoy.
