Im getting a t3/t4 turbo for the system im building on my 98 eclipse gs. what are the different trim levels. from what ive learned just from talking to people, ill probly go with the .50 trim, but what does that mean. ive seen other trim levels like .76, etc. what does this mean??

Wow, google homie. Google. In dummy terms the larger the trim the more capable of running higher boost more effiently the turbo will be. A .50 trim t3/t4 is a 450-500 hp turbo with the right setup(with the right hot side)

Just get a T70 and call it a day. ;) A 57 trim is a nice compromise turbo, just be careful of X-S performance/SS Autochrome. They have a nasty habit of killing bearings and dying an early death.

i had a 50 trim, the switched to a 57 trim...50 trim is nice..but damn...the 57 is pretty sick...much louder spool and way more power than the 50, not to mention how loud it made my RFL....god i miss it...

RFL=Really Fucking Loud imo.

I recommend going to a magazine stand and buy yourself a copy of "Engines" It's actually for the V8 people but I bought it because the issue covers turbocharging and alot of it! Go now before it goes away. Second I also recommend buying the book titled Maximum Boost written by Corky Bell. It's a great book! You could get it at eBay or where ever they sell books. Read and learn.

But remember before selecting a turbo for the 2.0, the motor must pump enough volume of air so it can spool up the turbo to it's potential otherwise you'll be generating more heat than power. So that's when you have to look at the compressor map to make sure you fall within the 75-85% compressor effeciency island. But start w/ the Mitsubishi TD06-20. The T3/T4 w/ trim S60 or Super 60 is nice.
