Ok, here is my situation... Im the owner of the 96 avenger turbo (the purple one) anyways, about a month and a half ago i had seized the engine due that my oil return line came off the oil pan and dumped all my oil on the interstate (it was night time)... Im upgrading now and im trying to figure out a good fuel system combo. I was running on stock fuel system + the S-AFC... the engine was getting 6psi at the most before it died... now im planning on getting 550's, the walbro HP 255lph pump and the vortech FMU... im bypassing the stock regulator with a banjo screw and getting a 95 fuel rail with the stock FPR and then run a return line back to the tank... ofcourse the stock FPR will be replaced with the vortech, but the question here is... since im getting 550's, running about 12psi, should i get a 3:1 FPR? what do you guys recommend? also, i see that some of you are leaning out the afc with 440's (~48%) will i see difficulties with 550s?
in about a year im going 625's with the DFI in order to run higher boost... but for now, i want this set up... any advise will be greatly appreciated
my email is avenger_esr@yahoo.com... feel free to drop me a line :)

Well my education on turbos does not go that deep:P But I'm sure the 550's should be fine, but I do recomend getting an inline fuel pump on top of that walbro intank. This will feed enough fuel to your engine and you could dyno tune it with your S-AFC. Why were you running your STOCK fuel system with your turbo?!?! or did I misread your post?? I also have some parts, well actually an entire engine if you need something. Just drop me an e-mail... thetachi66@hotmail.com. Good Luck!!!

I could see 2:1 being better with 550's. If you get the adjustable fuel pressure regulator, you can probably specify (if not, get it seperatly) that you want the 2:1/1.5:1 recalibration disc. With that setup, you won't be running pressures high enough to bog down your walbro, so an inline shouldn't be necessary.
If you have anything else you'd like help with, feel free to email me. i'll do my best to help you.. dyancey@prosrm.com

What turbo do you have? IMO the 550's are a bit excessive, especially if you are only planning on running 12psi of boost. I currently have the 440's and am more than capable of running 18psi with no probs in the fuel system. I am also still running the Hahn FPR on my set-up. Yes you are correct that everyone is running 440's and having to lean them way out, that is why I think that 550's are overkill. This is of course just my opinion and what do I know:). I was thinking the same thing. If your going to upgrade to the DFI and 625cc in a yr. Why such big 550cc injectors. At 12psi you could use 370cc and give the AFC less work to do. Walbro is fine with larger injectors, its with stock injectors and excessive fuel pressure where its overworked.
