Yes they are. They are both available to anyone from that calls Bill. He's been tring to sell me the 3" downpipe, I just don't have the cash right now. I need it but I'm gonna have to wait. The outlet on the turbine is only 2.25 inches anyways, and my exhaust is a 2.5.

If someone calls hrc and asks to buy the pieces, they don't have them for sale yet. The only people that have been offered these kits are people who receive calls from bill.. Not to Bill..
Either way, it doesn't matter.
I have one coming.

DAMNIT. If I knew this thing would have been avaiable in time for the SO I wouldn't have hacked up my manifold with 4 more holes.

I want someone that has had the EIC setup and compares it to this HRC setup, to give some pro's and con's of each. It sounds the same to me excepy different software and different mounting types. I'm sure HRC's is gonna be the most favorable, but I'd like to know the real differences.

I don't think we'll get a good comparison until someone installs the HRC setup. It sounds like the standard 8 injector setup and HRC setup will have similar capabilities and limitations. I would say that the HRC setup will eliminate alot of the headaches and labor associated with a standard 8 injector setup. With HRC, you won't have to source parts, drill the manifold, fab bosses, fab brackets, and create your own fuel maps. They've done the hard work for you. It sounds like you can just install and drive. Then, if you feel the urge, you could play with the settings to fine tune it. Thats my take on it.

Well said... you'll get about the same capabilities and draw backs at the end of the day... but the ease of use and install should be a lot better.

BTW, Bill said they will start shipping kits next week, but are taking orders now.
Just out of curiosity, what is the average cost for the DIY 8-injector setup?

In that case, I think I'll save myself alot of money and do the 8-Inj. I'll just depend on this site for help when I need it.

$10-$100 for extra injectors (stock would be about almost free) $20 extra stock fuel rail $10 for fittings, fuel line $40 for bungs $100 for welding (optional...you can use epoxy) $250 for EIC
About $400 - $450, I would estimate.
That's it, unless you don't have a jank-ass laptop. I bought mine a few years ago off ebay for about $30.

75018, RE: Just purchased HRC's new fuel system and 3" downpipe. Posted by EvuLFleA, Aug-10-04 11:15 AM
1:1 FPR $100 also
They few 8inj setups that have been sold here sold between $350-650 depending on the parts used.
|
75041, RE: Just purchased HRC's new fuel system and 3" downpipe. Posted by siueclipse, Aug-10-04 10:43 PM
you also have to keep in mind.. hrc is designing the system for people with stock injectors and they are supplying 500cc injectors.
well... 440cc injectors cost what.. about 300 bux? 500cc injectors have to be more.

75048, RE: Just purchased HRC's new fuel system and 3" downpipe. Posted by Corbin, Aug-11-04 06:46 AM
If you're cheap, you split a set of 8 from Accel.
504 cc/min = $60 each
So thats $240 for a set of big secondaries. Either system will add up to decent money when all is said and done. If you choose to build it yourself, you'll make up the difference in blood, sweat, and tears.

I have a set of 30# injectors, and still have my stockers. Could I reinstall my stockers and use the my 30's with HRC's setup? Will this be enough. I think the stock ones are like 220cc right? So that will still give me 500+ cc's of fuel under boost which should be plenty for my 16psi goal for next summer.

If you are looking for 30lb. injectors, Ebay has a few deals going on now. I think the best one I saw was like a set of 8, almost brand new, for like $150. Buy, sell the other 4 and you're golden.

You should keep in mind that HRC's controller is preset for certain size injectors. Any deviation from that and you'll have to do all the tuning yourself. You'd have to discuss the possiblilty of supplying the controller preset for a non-standard injector size. Or, you could just buy the portfueler plate and supply everything else yourself. You'll have to talk to HRC to determine the possibilities.

If the Hahn controller is anything like the Megasquirt... al you have to do is change one parameter to go from one injector size to the next...
I'm not sure if that is the case with the "Hahn" controller... but then I do know what controller it is... ;) That's all I'm saying on it.
|
75096, RE: Just purchased HRC's new fuel system and 3" downpipe. Posted by Corbin, Aug-13-04 06:33 AM
There is likely one parameter that scales the entire fuel map. With some quick calculations, a person could determine what to change that number to. That would probably be good enough. However, it sounds like HRC has done some fine tuning for certain RPM points and load conditions. After swapping injectors and changing the scaling parameter, there may be some additional work required to restore the same level of driveability. That takes effort and skill. I am pointing out that a user should know that the units are preset for certain injectors and deviations from that design may require further input. What seems easy to you, may be quite difficult for someone new to PC fuel tuning. Perhaps I have too little faith...

For the guys who went to the shootout, we actually got to check out the injector plate. Its pretty sweet indeed, and a very nice piece of machine work. Also checked it out installed on the HRC RS, and there is still tons of room for the intake mani and firewall area, and even there is room where the second rail mounts. I as others were told directly by Bill, that the injector plate with the fuel rail will be 250.00 I'm sold :)

It is true that you still can not order the new Port Fueler system. I have called two weeks ago and was told that all I could do was put my name on a call list. Once it is released, Bill Hahn is supposed to personally return your call.
I also called this week for a status update and I believe the receptionist (Melissa) said there is no official release date yet but I will receive a call when the product is ready.
I don't mind waiting to receive a trouble-free product and installation - I just hope it isn't months or years.

I was around when the discussion started about Bill Hahn's new fuel system many months ago (maybe even a year). Since the information and piictures of it are finally on his web page, I would assume the new fuel system has to be much closer to the final version than it was in the past when the idea only started.
I'm all for releasing a quality/hassle-free product and I hope it is finished soon!

approx ~850 - 1000 depending on what you need... just roughly... its a spacer for the injectors, set of 500cc injectors, extra injector controller, nuts and bolts, oh and a 1:1 FPR if you need one...

won't HRC need to change the programming based on compression ratios or camming/valve sizing as well? or is it going to be designed for stock longblocks?
|
75342, RE: Just purchased HRC's new fuel system and 3" downpipe. Posted by siueclipse, Aug-22-04 07:51 AM
dont know..
either way, thats why you purchase the software so you can fine tune it.

why 500cc injectors? you have your stock fuel system in place to take care of your N/A needs... 500+230/245 or whatever would be overkill wouldnt it?

Ghetto all you are getting is a Split second AIC1 and the nessasary fuel lines regulator injectors and hahns custom plate. Hahn is making up you base map based on what mods you have. Anything from there that you change you will tune via pc just like the 034. its really just the same thing people have been runnig with the 8 injector setup just hahn is giving you a map to run with, tech support and an easier way to install it. You are going to hav to fine tune it for any change you make. Its that or request a new map from hahn each time you change something. now keep in mine every motor is just a touch different so fine tuning is important once you get it installed.
This is the AIC being used http://www.splitsec.com/products/aic1prod.htm

Does anyone besides HRC have personal experience with that AIC? I'm just wondering how that compares to the 034, regarding tuning/fine tuning, and fuel map tuning perameters..Just wondering which unit would be more suitable to our application...

does the 034 do a live update.....meaning while you are running can you dump new maps into the 034? SS AIC1 cannot.
I really dont know much about either except for that.

Well, not sure about loading a entire new feul map "on the fly", but the 034 lets you change numbers/perameters "on the fly"..
