Tim I have had good success with 100LL you can get from any airport. Its about 2.98/gal here, vs Toulene @ 9.99/gal. Even though toulene is 114 octane.

buy toluene in bulk from a chemical supply house. 55 gallon drum for like 3 bucks a gallon

I've known about this for a long time, but my local rx7 shop says that it raises octane, but not motor octane. What does this mean, I do not not know.

He says I should get some real race gas, I say he is full of shit. There are many people using tolune and xylene to raise octane and it reduces knock greatly, or so they say.

The difference with xylene is that you cannot put too much in it as it corrodes the fuel lines, not so much with xylene. Oh, and not to mention that both produce highly carcinogenic fumes. That is what I've read and heard.

VP Racing fuel is better than any paint thinner (Toluene, Xylene, or anythene else).

If you happen to live in an area where it is impossible to obtain VP racing fuel, but happen to also have a local Sherwin Williams paint store and a 15% off coupon... you can get a drum of Toluene affordably and it will help reduce knock at high boost.
