WOW!
I don't know when this happened, but the 2GNT community finally got some props on the dsm.org drag times FWD page.
Posted there is the ten second performance of our venerable RS. I was pessimistic that this would ever get posted, for all attempts to get it there and / or discuss it were met with silence. Bu apparently they just move at a slower pace and can't return every email (I am sure some underappreciated volunteer manages the page), so I am real happy I never sent them a raging email now!
To continue my brag, go check the FWD page out. You will see that there is only one 2G car listed that is any quicker, and I have news for ya...I know the fellow, Kerry Runnoe, and it is a full drag car!
What does that leave the RS as?
THE QUICKEST AND FASTEST STREET FWD 2G DSM!
{take THAT, 4G63 racists! oh, did I mention that that is with a STOCK HEAD, CAMS, VALVES, AND INTAKE? Of course you can't believe me, your 4G63 don't do that!}
I SO have to go to DSM nats now, even if all I can do is run brackets.

Nice. I'm curious about that new fuel system in the works, but I deffinitely don't need it, and can't afford it either.

And clean the damn RS up and make sure you bring it to the PRI show this year! I was really disapointed to see no RS last year and jus that damn ugly Cavalier... :cheers

You may not be looking at the FWD page...#7 is shown as a 90 Talon (1G) there.

MrSlick, we might just do that this year at PRI...that is, bring the Eclipse. We always have many show commitments for other vehicles we do, so GM's support as of late has led to many J-body appearances.
But I am mighty proud of the RS, and now that our mega-move is over, new facility all built, and we are humming along at record production speed...it's time to finish what we started. Inspiration comes in many forms...the fact the RS could be capable of mid to low 10's with just a few more tweaks and toys is very inspirational right now!
I'd like to also point out that NOTHING on the RS is 'secret' or 'unavailable' (yes, even the Stage V fuel system is about to be released). It uses standard parts throughout, and is but a demonstration of what our turbo and fuel system components can do when allowed to stretch their legs to the fullest. Further, we have intentionally resisted the urge to use a ported head or cams, just to see how far the stock pieces can go, as we feel that this best represents the majority of our customers' cars. Even the intake is stock! We built this car to show you folks what is possible with the least amount of investment overall, not to kick all your asses!
In addition to showing how to build the power, the RS also shows us how to make the rest of the car work well, which is invaluable information to share with our customers. Any customer who would like to build a similar car is welcome to use the same blueprint. And if you go quicker than me, with my parts and assistance, what could be cooler than that? Someone had to do it first, is all...I have thrown down the gauntlet in showing what the potential is, and I invite anyone with the determination and resources to follow. Come on in, the ET'S are fine!

Yep, that car is Kerry Runnoe. I mentioned him in the first post as a full drag car (lexan windows, gutted, the works) def not a street car. He's actually very cool, and his pit crew is a joy to behold!
Sounds like you are on the way to some quick ET's too. You have any questions about that car, give me a call or Email.
