Today I was bored at work, so I decided to look for a sensor that enables tuning with an 034EFI at boost pressures higher than 22 psi above atmospheric.

It's another Motorola pressure sensor, but it goes up to 300 kPa instead of around 250. However, it's a different package. SSOP is a bitch to work with unless the PCB has the pads already in place, which it doesn't, so I'll either have to make some type of adaptor board or I'll dead bug it on there.
I checked out the datasheets and all of the voltages line up. The 2.5 bar sensor outputs about 1.8 volts at atmospheric. If I lie to the program and call it a 3 bar sensor, it claims that atmospheric pressure is about 130 kPa, which is good, because 1.8 volts is about equal to 130 kPa on the datasheet for the 3 bar sensor.
The port is also a different size. The 4250 has a thingy that's about 180 mills in diameter, but the 6300 is only about 120 mills.
I don't know why I can't find a 3 bar MAP sensor in the same package as the 2.5 bar 4250 sensor. Oh well.
So, if anyone wants to upgrade their 034EFI to work with a boost pressure higher than 22 psi, this is the answer. This sensor should work to about 30 psi above atmospheric.

I finally got the new sensor, but it's soooooooooo small, I'm going to have to make some type of adapter to get it to hook up to the 034.
If anyone wants one, you can get 1 of them for free from Avnet, just ask for a sample pack. Otherwise, you have to buy a minimum of 55 and I think they cost about $20 each. That would suck.
When you add it all up it's not really worth to use this sensor because you have to deal with the fact that the package is so different. Getting a GM 3 bar MAP sensor would be probably be a lot more practical, but then again, how many people here run more than 23-24 PSI of boost? Dealing with all of that pressure would be Totally A Huge Bitch.
