now.. i know just about every boost controller. however, i want to know what you guys use, and what you like or dislike about that boost controller.

my turbo xs dual stage might be screwed.. I just noticed that the two cylinder looking parts of the controller can spin.. might mean i have a leak there.. so its time to buy a new one.

Jamesi like the HKS EVC IV, little older but works real nice. you have to go through a setup learning procedure that is fairly painless, Install is easy, price is fair if gotten used ~250.00. Different levels are easy to adjust from inside, not flick of switch but def easier than the apexi overall.

GReddy Profec B spec 2 is a very nice controller. I haven't found anything about it that I don't like.

Blitz EVC spec S was a good controller, until it was stolen. It's a little easier to read than the GReddy unit, but it's 4 boost settings were kind of an overkill (I can't ever see anyone using any more than two)

Those are the two conrollers I've had direct experence with.

I like the JoeP manual from boostcontrooler.com. Not expensive, never fails, gives consistent boost levels every time. Yeah, you have to get out and adjust it, but that's only before the track anyway. I like to keep things simple as possible. My .02

Greddy Profec B spec II. Its all you really need anway. Works great for me and easy to dial in. Get the remote steering wheel switch and its perfect for launching at lower boost at the track, then hit second gear, and hit high boost.

wow. 2 good things for the spec II. i kinda don't like it. it seems very finiky, and somewhat complicated to dial in. the set-up manual language is like something out of a quantum physics book, with nothing in plain terms. Plus its not a sipmle "dial in your boost" unit because you set your boost then adjust one of the other 3 settings which in tern effects your boost setting. i think its s bit more complicated than it needs to be. there have been a few "how the fuck do i" posts about this unit. i think if you have the more technical knowledge to figure out the jargin and the time to play with it, it would be a good unit. as i tend to be a little more of a simpleton, its not my favorite.

i still get a bouncy boost needle at times, and im convinced it the unit.

If your boost is bouncing, raise up the point when the unit starts opening the wastegate..3-4 psi before you desired boost works good..

I've had really good experiences with my profec E-01, If you are looking for a cost is no issue boost contoller then i would recommend it highly. I previously had the AVCR and got it to work well for me, but the E-01 was easier to set up and it had way more functions being that I am using the e-manage also.

I love the Profec e-01, It works great. The only reason I like the Apexi AVCR over the e-01 in the 2gnt is it's ability to modify boost for each gear. That helps me keep traction on the launch, which is always handy on a fwd. ;)

I'd say test your current boost control before you drop the cash on a new one. Just sounded like you weren't sure if it was leaking or not...

I have the TurboXS DSBC, and I love it. No issues so far...

i have the greddy profec a. i think this thing sucks. never holds boost steady. usually bounces between 15-17psi and the needle is always moving.

had the Turbo XS dual... worked good, but proved to be inconsistant with usage for me. Now I have the Turbonetics MBC and it had been rock solid at 20psi, but recently I haven't had the chance to use it because my motor won't be in the car until this weekend.

I've had several boost controllers from home made ones, to then the turbo xs which spiked like hell on me and I hated. Then I finally saved up the money to buy an apexi avc-r, I really loved it even though it wasnt on the car hardly any time before kaboom! hehe. But I loved it, it was a little hard to tune but when you get the settings down it was fine. You have 3 settings wastegate, setting A, and setting B. I had wastegate at like 3-4 psi, then setting A was 7.5 psi, then setting B was 9-10 psi. It was really nice being able to change the boost while driving or anything else. The graphs are some good visuals too =).
