73973, Howell Automotive? Posted by BlueMach5, Jul-15-04 12:55 PM
I purchased a 2.0 bottom end kit from Howell and I was curious how long it takes them to get it to the customer? I have been wating I think just over two weeks.
I have now emailed them twice with no response...
Anybody have any words or advice?

Depends on if all the parts are in stock or not.
Go to the Howell Forum and ask Gary or Todd for an order status.
They should also give you an email notice when it ships, or if anything is on backorder. I got one, anyway.

The best thing is to call them in advance to check stock. Then place the order over the phone. That way, you will know exactly what to expect. And, for your engine's sake, double check every single item. Make sure they gave you the right part and the right size. You'll have to call the manufacturer and do some investigative work on your own to check their shipment.
There were 3 separate screw-ups related to my bottom end kit order. That caused me to assemble the shortblock twice while on the stand. Then I had to dissassemble, hone cylinders, and re-ring the engine 500 miles into my break-in. Everything is running fine now...but it is a lesson learned.
I will give them credit for quick shipment. If they have it in stock, it will go right out...usually same day.
