Who had the fastest auto trans turbo 2gnt? What boost level and trans mods?

I'm just wondering. I'm going to swap but I'm curious what I might do at the shoot-out.

Fastest i've seen an auto 2gnt do was a 14.2 at 102mph, 15psi, no trans mods other than a cooler.

Well I can't say for sure on this, but I plan to run 18 psi on a stock auto (other than a cooler) in a couple of weeks. Now, I've heard that a boosted stock auto 2gnt can run somewhere in the mid 13's on 18 pounds of boost :shrug

Try bottom 14's :-)

cool, I'll be pushing just under 20psi on mine with a rebuilt trans (Minus HS torque converter and LSD).

i might make a few passes on friday at the shootout. around 15 psi and a 2800 stall converter. im just afraid to break something.

Im planing on runing a neon 3 speed with a 2.4 and turbo with a 3k stall....allready got my bulletproof trans peices...need to rip out that diferential to have it converted to retrofit ......just need to finish building my motor :)..

I feel the same way. My trans might have been built but I'm still running stock axles, torque converter and diff. On top of that I wanna run more boost }(

Not sure about the 420a's but Avenger V6 auto's are getting into the mid 12's-13's on autos. None of them are beefed up either, just coolers and shift kits.


The 604 has the potential, you just have to keep it alive. SImply adding a cooler saves alot of the problems, but other updates must be done to ensure it holds. Problems like the clutch packs, clutch materials, 2-3, 2-4, line pressure spikes, TC lockup piston failure, TC mounting pad leakage, accumualtor piston failure, diff retainer pin failure, diff idler shaft failure, etc etc have all been fixed and with those updates we have seen no further issues.

I guess all I'd have to worry about is the axles snapping. oh well, looks like I won't be going to the shoot-out anyway.

Maybe after I get the 20g on the car I'll try pushing 20+psi }(
