If you do, email me. From Carbondale, you're about 2.5 hours away from Springfield. We're leaving early on Friday morning.

damn nice numbers. You said a "can" of octane booster? like the stuff you get at a parts store? Or are you talking about tolulene in a big can :) What was your A/F on the run?
73956, RE: new dyno
Posted by siueclipse, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
auto parts store can of crap.. my afr's were 11.1 too rich

edit.. if i remember correctly we had a small spot where it hit 10.9

man, it doesnt make sense..I have to run UNDER 11.0:1 at 15 psi on the 16g so it doesnt knock on 93. i just don't get it..

Stock timing? Retarding? Any ignition upgrades?
73959, RE: new dyno
Posted by siueclipse, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM

WOW, impresive!! Matt, I think im running a little rich still. We may have to work on the tuning a little. We should split the cost of a dyno for a few hours.

That doesn't sound right. How are you detecting knock? If I remember correctly, you and Jason are saying that you knock around the same time... are you sure it's not just a natural resonance in the engine that your meter(?) is detecting as knock. I'm really not aware of any good method to detecting true knock in these engines. You should be able to target 11.3 AFR on the dyno and that'll end up being around 11.7 AFR on the street. That's perfect. If you're having to tune to under 11.0 on the street just to prevent KNOCK, then something else is wrong IMO. Running less than 11.0 AFR at your boost level is just leaving power on the table.

suieclipse- don't lean it out very much. I wouldn't go over 11.5 AFR on the dyno (assuming high boost & WOT ofcoarse). Good numbers man.

well.. someone had the nerve to call slingblade.. haha

did you enjoy getting fucked with? i stopped over there today to fix one of their computers and jeff said someone called asked about my car..

mental note.. these guys wont give you a straight answer on some else's car.. lol.. next time the person calls he going to say.. oh yeah.. the eclipse gs with the 4g63 @ 500whp ? ? haha

funny shit

it was sad becase we started putting them in the night b4 my dyno, and we couldent get em to run right, so we were forced to put in 310's...booooooooo, i had to stay at 9 psi...i hit 239 WHP, at 9 psi, i wonder what ill do at 20 :evilgrin
