I don't know if it's just my car but at acceleration, the car is kind of weak. It shows no power. I just realized this after driving my friend mazda speed (turbo) and that car pull hard at start. And the driving is smooth. Maybe my car is just not tuned right or maybe this is how a 2GNT turbo feels like. How does your car feel after pulling off from a dead stop?

Fairly fast. Have access to a logger or anything? It's all a matter of perspective really. Try to get some numbers.

Good point. Gotta keep in mind that the Mazdaspeed Protege uses a T-25 on a motor with a fairly high compression for a turbo car.

it seems to go from slug, to wheel spin in a matter of seconds haha.

mine never really did "feel" that fast when boosted...i thought it wasn't until i ran it at a track...

i also agree with slug to wheel spin in seconds. ill be damn if a mazdaspeed is faster

o hell nah that car is faster then a turbo 2gnt. i fly by him in the highway all the time. -=O

but yeahh -=\ feels sluggish on take offs. i kinda have to slip my clutch to get some power. but then again i think my clutch is gone. i'll see how it will feel when i put a new clutch.

Given the same amount of force (2.0 4cyl for example), it will take a greater amount of energy to turn a larger wheel. (See: Newtons 1st law of motion) Inertia will resist motion.

However thanks to the miracle of turbos, once that larger wheel gets spinning, the larger turbine attached to it also starts kicking ass.

Comparing a T25 to a S16G is like comparing a Squirrel to a Badger.

i have a 14b and forged 9.6 je pistons...ive been noticing a lot of "lag"...i dont think its the turbo lag, but something else.... if i slip the clutch like you said it moves...i just want more

I've noticed that it is all about finding the "sweet spot" on the take off. You may need to play around with launching at various RPMs (it's all relative to what kind/quality of tires you're rollin' on)... but when you find that sweet spot with just the right amount of wheel spin (you'll want a little bit for inertial advantage, but not too much)it won't feel like it's that slugish anymore.

no im not talking about on take offs. im talking about just regular driving. (at a dead stop and take off normally)
