72834, -6 AN fuel feed lines
Posted by safedawg, Jun-19-04 08:21 AM
I have the return lines figured out, but now i need to figure out the fuel feed lines. I want to go -6 AN. I have the HRC in-line fuel pump. What size fitting screws into the hrc in-line pump, also will i need a fitting for the fuel rail, what kind of fitting od I use? I will be using a -6 AN fuel filter along the line as well, anyone that can help would be great.

if you have a 3/8 feed line you're not going to want a 3/8 return line

in other words you dont want the feed and return the same size if thats what you're thinking of doing

So I should just stick with the factory feed, and a -6 an return?

Alright i have been trying to figure this out, I was told that having the same size feed and return is not a good idea. A few questions.
1) If I go with a -6 AN feed, should I go with a -4 AN return?
2) From the test port to the S-FMU is this part of the "return" portion, or feed?
3) What size lines should connect the S-FMU to the test port? -4 AN? Will -6 AN be a problem?
4) Can I run -6 AN all the way? or keep a -6 AN feed, and -4 return from the test port back?

Dude... full -6AN (3/8") fuel plumbing will work just fine. My fuel system consists of a Holley in-tank fuel pump, -6AN ss braided feed line, modified fuel rail for -6AN inlet and -6AN outlet, Aeromotive injected bypass regulator, and -6AN aluminum return line. It's been a great system for me, and I use a LOT of fuel with 720cc injectors. I'm sure it'd work just as well for you with the RR-FPR, can't see why that would change anything really.

Why isn't it a good idea to use -6an throughout?

Its just fine to use 6an throughout, i think Turbo8u's point was just that it overkill. I cant understand anyone who runs a 3/8 feed line and then runs another return line. The facotry line is 5/16.....are you afraid to use that as a return? In the end you only have to run one line...the 3/8 feed.

I'm really not worried about the return, I just wanted a nice safe fuel setup that I would never have to mess with. I want to be able to give my car allI got and not have to worry about a fuel line busting or something.

Yea just make sure everything is tight and your flares are double flares, a single will not work with high pressure. This is referring to hardline or course.
