If possible, I wanted to order the engine so I could have it by mid August.

Also, any NJ, NY or CT guys out there that wanna get together and help me install my engine in august if all goes well? Maybe we can have a big ass barbecue and shit... I got a big backyard. I know you guys like ur beeer so maybe we can have a get-together and I'll compansate you guys as best I can.... what do ya say?

i dont know about currently, but it only took my shortblock a few weeks. three to four maybe? they said they try to keep their turnaround time about 2-3 weeks. provided no parts are on backorder, probably still the same. your best bet is to call them and see what they say.

What is the total cost? I was worried that besides the $1845 for the block I would have to pay a shitload of shipping!!! And it would be twice right since I have to send my block back??? Any help appreciated.

You would have to send the block to be worked on, unless you find one in the junkyard... then no down time. I used dominion frieght to ship my block and head to FTY which costed around $120 and got there in under 2 days. Since I got the head and block it took 2 and a half months to finish... definatly worth the wait though.

it runs....... and drives....... sorta

I have a brand new VT block sitting right here. No downtime. Just waiting to be sold. Want to talk? PM me.

I think it took 2 months for them to complete mine. 3-4 weeks no way.

Turn around time is usually 4 to 6 weeks (1 Week is usually wasted in shipping - 2 days to VT, 2 days back to your house).

Yeah it took mine over a month to get done. I lived close enough to drive up/drop off/pick up. You would need a core block for them to build too.

*rebuild in process*
GST Muffler
injen short ram intake
magnecore 8.5mm wires
EGR removal/blockoff
front/rear strut tower bars
GSX dual piston calipers

Yeah, Just by Brads block. It was built at VT and it's got CP pistons I believe. Plus you will only have to pay shipping once. Then sell your stock block as a core or on ebay.

my motor only took 3 weeks from when I sent it in... however, I waited until they got my custom pistons in first.

i didnt go with vt because then i would have to pay alot for shipping. $400 prolly back and forth. thats too much. if you live around new york, i got a good machine shop that i would recommend to you. plus if there something wrong with the motor, i wont have to ship it back to vt.

yeah, I just picked up my block from VT last Friday. it took a bit over two months for them to get it done, but that was w/ the leaving of one of their technicians who was working on my block. anyway, while i was there they said they had about twenty engines to work on at the moment. so yeah, just get that block from Brad, either way, the work from VT will kick ass! :thumbsup
