I have a 96 RS with OBD2 and ever since I had the Star kit installed my Check Engine light has come on. I cant remember what code it sent me, but even when I clear it, it comes back on as soon as I turn on the car. The shop that installed it for me thinks that maybe its because of the VC1 chip. But I have never heard of anyone having that happen to them. The car runs great and I have even ran awsome times at the track with 3psi in hot ass weather. So I know its not hindering performance in anyway but I need to know whats causing the light.

i have a 97 rs, and i had problems with my vc1, but we figured out that it was just hooked up wrong...
with it hooked in properly, i still get a check engine light- i read a map sensor code and a tps code...we replaced both, but the codes are still there...
the CEN is not a big deal- just slightly annoying, but hey now i have a turbo

Ok cool, most likely thats the code Im getting. Everything runs fine and all, I was just a little concerned about the light. It doesnt bother me at all, I have grown used to it. Thanks for your help. I havent had the chance to check the code again. The first time I checked it my friends code book didnt go that high into numbers so I never knew what it was. Thanks again
