How much did you spend on building your engine and for the turbo kit. Did you build the engine first then turbo or vice versa. What kind of kit did you get or did you do it custom. Also how much power are you cranking out?

Here's my list:
VT Engines Rebuild (8.8 : 1 Compression, JE Pistons, Eagle Rods, JE Rings) ~ $1645.00 Timing Sprocket ~ 18.00 (Old Sprocket was damaged) Water Pump ~ $129.00 Steel Head Gasket ~ 91.00 Hydraulic Tensioner Pulley (Pulley with Bracket) ~ $90.00 Hydraulic Tensioner ~ $146.00 Idler Pulley ~ $90.00 Thermostat Gasket ~ $4.00 New Thermostat ~ $14.00 Valve Cover Gasket ~ $22.40 Camshaft Seals ~ $16.00 Spark Plug Gaskets ~ $30.00 A/C Belt and Altenator Belt ~ $40.00 Timing Belt ~ $109.00 Intake Gasket ~ $8.00 ARP Head Stud Kit ~ $140.00 Clutch Masters Stage IV Clutch ~ $782.00 Accel 390 cc/min Injectors ~ 219.96 NGKBKR7E Spark Plugs ~ $16.00 Turbo XS High Performance Boost Controller $109.00 Pocket Logger ~ $180.00
I probably went a little overkill and replaced some gaskets that didn't need to be replaced but I definitely wasn't going to do the work more than once.
As luck would have it, I have taken the motor apart twice now. Once for a leaky rear main seal (VT Engines used the wrong seal) and once for a bad head gasket (I would recommend using only the Mitsu head gasket and not the Cometic).

How much did you spend on building your engine and for the turbo kit?
---I dont want to think about it because it makes me sick. Lets just say way to fucking much!
Did you build the engine first then turbo or vice versa?
---Turboed it first then cracked some ring lands after about 20,000 miles
What kind of kit did you get or did you do it custom---
---HRC kit, custom intercooler and piping
Also how much power are you cranking out?
---Havent dynoed it but it runs in the 107-110mph range at the track so its pretty high on hp

9.6:1 custom je pistons - 330 off of ebay eagle rods - 300 rings/bearings - 100 14b and manifold - 300 sfmu - 125 off of ebay custom made down pipe - 20 custom made intercooler pipes - 40 rfl bov - 50 everything else was either made or neglible costs.... you can have it cheap and nice, just have to be patient and keep a look out for what you want...im not sure what kind of power im pushing.... i feel like i got more turbo lag than whats supposed to be there, but i would guess 240-250 to the crank running 11psi..... doug
