I really need to do something about this MBC I bought off eBay for like $9. It just has a nut and a big screw. I think it said that if you screw it all the way out with just a lil thread grabbing, that sets boost low. Well I did that and I keep touching 20psi...I love it, but I dont have enough will power to tell myself to not keep going up there. Ive only had the engine with this turbo setup for 3 days now and I need to break it in "properly" (*rollseyes) but yea I do... I screwed it all the way in today and it still does the same thing... anybody have any ideas of what I might be doing wrong? Could I have the MBC hooked up backwards? Imma mess with it in the morning.

if you have it too loose its the same as having it all the way down, the ball and spring wont work.

out it in the middle and tweak it from there?

I never had a problem with my Joe-P MBC

It's a bleeder type MBC. If you have it all the way out, you're at full boost. All the way in, lowest boost.
The idea is to bleed off a little pressure that the wastegate see's to trick it to open later creating more boost. Get it???
edit: How well do you actually expect a $9 ebay MBC to work anyway?...

i wouldnt expect too much from a 9 dollar mbc from ebay imo. if you want a cheap mbc, just get teh joe p one from www.forcedperformance.com

Well I flipped it around and it works now, doesnt work well. I'll boost to 15 psi then drop to and stay at 10. But thanks

Your problem is that you bought a $9 MBC off ebay. That's expected of someone who would roll there eye's at break in though.

There's no break-in on a turbocharger really. Those eBay MBCs spike like that... it's just the way it was designed.

Designed to spike....dont you just feel that warm safe feeling inside?

beware of those cheap boost controllers. I had one and the ball got jammed when it got cold and made the boost do wierd stuff to include spikes. I bought a turbonetics one when I found out the problem havent had a problem after that.
