71667, cant always floor it...what you think my issue is? Posted by 95GSEclipse, May-26-04 04:20 PM
Ok Ive been having this problem with my car for a while...i need a pocketlogger...but heres what she doing. when i drive around ill be getting on it not floor it completely like %60 throttle and its fine but some times when i floor it it will go but not like it should (and its not detonating) then if i let up on the gas down to like %80 it feels like you flipped a switch and you can feel more power. it only does this sometimes and around 3500-6.5k. I replaced the map sensor and it still does it but it doesnt always do it...have any of you guys had this problem? what do you think...

Ditto
Same exact thing i was going to post about. Its strange. my trims look good and my fuel press is good, but I cant WOT pull without some serious hesitation. If I back it off to around 35-50% tps (according to my SAFC2) then it pulls generally harder...
strange isnt it.

same exact problem here, never figured it out. What kind of fuel system do you run?

craptech, walbro inline 255, 310 injectors, 7-8 psi boost

sfmu- 45-50psi idle press., stock injectors, safc2 is cleared... its weird cuz my datalogger is showing great fuel trims and good a/f ratio and no wacky timing numbers.

have you guys looked at timing at those times. I bet timing is being pulled quite a bit.
Ive always noticed with our cars its a much faster launch if you give it part throttle vs just mashing down the gas. I think its the ECU pulling timing during upshifts,etc..

get rid of the cartech fmu. its crap. youre flooding out in the top end. i ran 310cc injectors with the craptech fmu for a bit, ditched it because of flooding at WOT.
also.. you dont need an afc with stock injectors.

If you datalog the car you will notice a very linear, perfectly flat, timing number when you get anywhere past 65% throttle. It goes to 17* advance. When you back off of it it jumps anywhere from 35-25 degrees advance. You may need a little more timing in lower rpm's so don't give it as much gas. When you get closer to say 4-4500K then give her all shes got. You really need a datalogger though. You may be really really rich too. Being to rich on top of having 17* timing advance would really hurt your spool.
