71286, Interesting Oil feed system

I was thumbing through ebay to find goodies for my car and I came across this turbo kit. Nothing too special except that I saw a oil sandwich adapter. I was like wow cool it comes with an oil cooler. But then I looked at it a little more closely and it was using the sandwich adapter to supply oil to the turbo. Wow I didn't know you could do something like that pretty interesting. I wonder what advantage this has compared to the star tap. It sure as hell easier to install. Well then again you run into the problem with having an oil cooler adapter, the filter hangs lower and is in danger of banging and scrapping the ground. But that can be rectified with a shorter filter.

just thought it was something interesting to show you guys. I don't even know if that turbo kit would work on an eclipse it missing quite a few essential things.

oops forgot the link

If you didn't have a pressure drop and it sent it back to the filter ok, then it would work. That neon in the pic has a CF fmu. Just thought I'd point that out.:shrug

the way I see it they are using a modified oil cooler probably drilled inside , for the oil feed line
the oil return would still go back in the pan

personnaly I would put a real oil cooling system and still put a Tee on the pressure sender
