Heh...nope at about 15+ psi, I'm definitely satisfied. Seriously, if I had much more power, I'd need to be on some REALLY wide-ass tires I probably couldn't afford. I would also guess things would start breaking a good deal more as well.
I mean, at that HP, who's faster than you?

Anyone who is satisfied with a given level of horsepower needs a new hobby.
I'm never satisfied.

300 awhp isn't enough. I want more, probably 350 to start, then 400, then 450...

I'm determined to produce 500whp by next May. Even then, I'm sure I still won't be satisfied.

Yeah, but funnily enough, mine made more power on an aborted motor-killing pull than yours did on the dyno in norwalk PEAK! haha

Touchè! But don't forget, I saw your Dyno with it's awe-inspiring A/F ratio, professor. It looked like a heart monitor. Up, down, up, down... :thumbsdown :thumbsup :thumbsdown :thumbsup

Well this topic is 2 fold to me fellas... I am used to the the car at it's current power level so yes my car feels slow even though it's running 19lbs of boost...I always feel like it's just normal...lol. As for being satisfied with my current power level, hell no!!! I didn't get the quaife and axles to stop here, I will always try to squeeze another pony out of this car... }(

And there is always someone who is faster than you too :)
I think there will come a point in power, that you hit a wall, when concerning a FWD street car..When power levels get up there, traction will be the limiting factor, so i dont think running 500HP on steet tires, on the street, is going to be very fun..breaking the tires loose whenever you floor it, is a waste of power lol..
Now for a track car, the more, the better, with the certain necessities for traction of course..
Don't mod your car to be the fastest, the best, or the one with the most power. Do it because you like it, do it because you like working on cars and motors, do it for the challenge, the problem solving, and just trying to make something great, out of something that was mediocre to begin with..at least thats how I look at it..being faster than the other guy is the added bonus :)

Buy a Supra and start modding that, that should be enough HP to put your junk in the back seat.

I love my car and love this forum but at some point you really need to be realistic about the limitations of the 2gnt and fwd cars in general. Trying to keep a car like ours with that kind of power planted to the pavement with 225 series tires on the steet is kind of a joke. If you want to put down 500, even 400 hp and really enjoy the car i'd look into a different platform. You will have no traction at that power level unless your going from a 60-70 roll. 1st and mostly 2nd gear is almost unusable for me at 20 psi, i couldnt imagine the 24-25psi needed to get close to 400 range. If you want to run with the big dogs you should mod something that can hold the rubber necessary to harness that power. Either awd or rwd. You will beat up most 4 bangers but you'll have trouble matching the power of a head/cams ls1 off the line when his 315 series tires grip and your just spinning. I'm in no way trying to discourage you from your goals and i'll certainly help out in any way i can but this is a reality we have to deal with and before you dumb that kind of money into a 2gnt its something that should be noted.

heh, get a bigger turbo and traction problems slowly go away. im prolly about 300whp, maybe more.. 16psi on the super25g. make a guestimate. i think i broke my flexplate, so i need to rethink of the power.

It's definitely an addiction. Your hunger for more HP never ends--the more HP you achieve, the more you want.

I know a fella with a 575whp dirft ready RX-7 who had to stop driving it on the street cuz shit comes loose to easily. Every other day you have to go over your car and make sure everything is tight.
I'm building mine to get like 475(hopefully) but I have no life and have the time to check every screw and bolt to make sure everything is good and tight.
Before you ask, it's all custom fabricated equipment. I'm still like 6-8 months away form completion. If it works I'll be more then glad to tell everyone how it went.

I hope your not serious about the traction. It may put the tire rapage further in the gear but it doesnt make it go away.
