71215, Finally, runnning good after rebuild!!
Posted by freddy_00_69, May-19-04 02:00 PM
Well, my old ecu was fried due to some wires being burnt behind the block. Some wires were melted and also when messing with my cam position sensor, it also damaged my ecu. A friend that works at a shop fixed everything and got a new ecu and wired everything back to normal and it drives good except for a vacuum leak. Somewhere on the firewall side of the intank manifold it is leaking badly,so i bought some new gaskets and am gonna fix it tomorrow. Other than that, it feels good driving it even slow since i only have 13 miles on the rebuilt motor. Will this vacuum leak cause my idle to be high b/c it is doing that but the leak is loud and can be heard when the hood is opened. Any suggestions or answers.

Yes, vacuum leaks will cause high idle.

Thanks, i will get it fixed tomorrow. Also i am buying some RC 440cc injectors to run higher boost at the track but not to much since i am planning on getting my clutch in july and do not have the money to replace my stock one now.

I am sorry, i must of written it wrong and you understood it different. I meant that i have my stock clutch which runs good with no slip at all, but i have heard that running higher than 16psi will wear my clutch down quicker and will start slipping so i plan on getting a stage 3 later so it can withstand the high boost. Thanks for the help, though.
