71202, Stupid S-FMU question:
Posted by ner947, May-19-04 10:25 AM
I'm trying to cut some corners on the 8 injector setup. In other words, I'm trying to see if i can get away with sticking with the S-FMU an not buying an 1:1 Aeromotive regulator. This would save me about $130.

What is the rising rate for the smallest disk that comes with the S-FMU?

You know, I had the same idea too, but just ended up buying an Aeromotive FPR for around 140.00 or so..I sold the used SFMU for over that, so you wont loose anything that way really..But i think if you use the smallest disk(2.2x?)and also use the bleed valve to bleed off some pressure from the SFMU main chamber, it could be possible to get it down to a 1:1 ratio. I would use the long, silver spring also, as this is said to give a slightly lower rate of gain over the short dark spring..

I remember reading that the smallest ratio you could get with the S-FMU is 2:1 with all the smallest disc and the bleed valve (though I don't remember where).

I 2nd Matt's opinion. If you sell the S-FMU you can most likely get over $200 for it and the Aeromotive unit cost much less depending on what you get ($100-130).

I'll buy your SFMU if you decide to sell it! E-mail me as I don't check the boards that often: jranders@wi.rr.com
