7120, Greddy EGT or anybody with an EGT Posted by sleepereclipse, Jul-05-01 10:10 PM
If anyone has installed the greedy egt they can help - or if you think you know chime in. Everything is tapped and plugged in but no play. The back light turns on and off in synch with the headlights but the dial doesnt move after the car heats up.

seems that your probe is bad, is it a new EGT or you got a used one? my Greddy probe went bad on me twice already.

I read 800*F at idle, after a few minutes.

Make sure you got the 12v+ lead out of the egt black box to a true 12v source....i didnt have it hooked up right the first time on my friend's car. Damn all these gauges!!!

i had that same problem..just make sure that your wires are ran right, because you can get power for the lights, but no power for the acctual reading.

Can you tell tell me how you wired it?

if you wanna test to see if its your 12V connection just run the wire to the positive battery terminal. if you get a reading, you know your wiring wasnt 12 volts before. if you get no reading your probe is bad, cause you cant NOT get a 12V current when connected directly to the currents source. if it works when you do this you can leave it connected this was and interrupt the battery-to-gauge wire with a switch, so you can turn the gauge on or off with the switch.
When are they gonna fix this shit? http://www.geocities.com/blue2gnt

Why does my egt have a wire that needs to be connected to a positive terminal and another wire that goes to ignition?
