heres the situations i've been thinkin about this and called vortech now its time for your crack at it. my fuel pressure is super high at 40 psi at idle. from reading i should be about about 22 to 25 psi at idle. i have the dark spring and the large disc in the sfmu. i've tried using my static adjustment but it'll only take me down to 38 psi. is this what i'm shootin for??
vortech suggested using the softer spring in the sfmu.
now would the vacc set screw be effectin anything here, from my understanding thats just a limit adjustment as well as teh boost screw. i think once i could get my fuel pressure done everything else will take care of itself.

What injectors are you using?

if stock injectors then you should be around 45-50 psi idle pressure.

plus dark spring and largest disk. Turn the three ports all the way in on the side of teh sfmu and use the alan key on top to adjust your static fp.

i'm using 30 lb injectors, do you think if i turn the screws all the way in with these injectors that will do it?

the screws dont mean anything at this point. you fine with the 30lbs. are you adjusting your FP with the vacuum signal off or on. it needs to be off to set your static fuel pressure to your desired range of 18-22psi, then hook your vacuum back up and your idle pressure will come up to 22-28, where its supposed to be. it all depends on what your static pressure is set to. you idle will usualy increase 6-8 psi, if i remember correctly.

also, do you have the restrictor in-line on your vacuum source?

i have my vac signal to the static port on the sfmu and its teed off the intake mani. i've tried adjusting the static screw and its not doin it for me. so should i have the sfmu off the mani by itself? does it matter if i have everything teed off one port or should i spread them around and have them teed off evenly?? like 2 to each port would that solve this problem??

no vaccum lines to the SFMU when you set the static pressure. car running, fuel lines connected, NO VACUUM line to the SFMU, adjust hex screw on top down to your desired STATIC fp (keep in mind your IDLE fp will rise 6-10ish psi after you connect your vacuum source)
then connect your vacuum line to the SFMU and observe IDLE fp. if its still to high, adjust down your STATIC pressure down again untill you get your desired IDLE fp! make sense?

the other 3 adjustment screws have little to no value for the eclipse. some have had good luck, others have had no change at all regardless of adjustment, so dont worry about them now...

STATIC fp = fp reading with no vacuum source to your SFMU.
IDLE fp = fp reading WITH vacuum source to your SFMU.

thanks for the info i wasn't aware thats how to set the unit up, i'm goin to check it out when i get home from work. points to you if thats solves my mystery.

Keep your vac line connected to the SFMU when adjusting for idle fuel pressure, if thats what you are shooting for..if you are trying to set your static pressure (0 psi), then leave it disconnected. With 30 lb injects, you want around 22 psi at idle, vac line connected. Static pretty much takes care of itself from there..I ran the largest disk in the SFMU, and using the bleed valve connected to the "bleed" port on the SFMU. Keep the "boost" and "vac" screws all the way in. If the "vac" screw is not all the way in, it can cause you to not be able to lower your idle fuel pressure far enough. Try using the longer, silver spring in the SFMU also, as I have had better luck with lower idle fuel pressures with that in there, over the shorter dark spring.

I did not read it but if you have a 95 I believe you will need to disable your stock fpr. 38psi sounds about the lowest you can go with the stock regulator.

ahh yes, i forgot about the stock FPR.

my eclips is a 98 and i did remover the stock fpr. so what i want to do first is set the static fuel pressure? by removing the vacc line. the my next step would be to set the idle fp by adjusting the static screw?? once i get this straightened out i think i'll be set. thanks for the input so far i got this item off ebay so i dont have the instructions and i couldn't find them on the vortech site so everything i've been told i didnt know before and i didn't find in any of the searchs i did.

ok i got the instructions from tim, thanks. so my static pressure should be 38-40 which it is. i have the softer spring in there and that made the difference and i was able to adjust it down to that psi. now in the intructions they are talkin about a restrictor in the vac line, i dont have one so is that an issue? if so where do i get one or what does it even look like? will this make the diffence so when i'm idleing my fuel pressure is 25psi or so? i just think i'm still running really rich.
also what are those rings that i sent with my extra disks? should i have that largest one installed with the large disk i'm running sittin on it?? or should i have the second largest disk with the ring installed??
