finally i got it apart. i cracked ring lands on 3 of 4 pistons. the worst one broke a piece about 4 inches off. i don't have any pics though. i guess when i break something i do it right. well, let the rebuild begin.

also a question for everyone: a guy with a 3000gt vr4 wants to race me when i am finished rebuilding. he is all stock except he got larger turbos when one of them blew. like i said he is all stock except for that and running 12psi. i plan on running about 18psi with udp, crane cams, lsd, 3 angle valve job, and port and polished head. so, what do you guys think?

I think I wish I had the money to buy all that stuff...and Ionno take em from a roll ;)

yeah had the turbo on for about 8 hours or so, i think there was an issue with the boost controller. it spiked to 13 psi and that was all she wrote. anyone have any other ideas on the vr4 situation?

like i said my setup will be:
star stage 2 @ 18psi
440cc injectors
cams
udp
lsd
3 angle valve job
port and polished head

18 psi is alot. might want bigger injectors and a good fuel system if your running that much boost. on my s25g i run like 14psi and i almost shit myself.

My idea is, benchracing is dumb.

well, stock vr4 turbos (9bs) flow ~285cfm each. remember, he has a 3.0 v6 and stock its rated at 330hp. awd doesnt help your cause much either. :shrug what turbos did he upgrade to?

vr4's are pigs. it takes roughly 380whp to get it into mid 12's. at 18psi you SHOULD be around 300 hp, w/ the difference in weight you should roll on him on the highway. from a dig awd owns you
