70509, Where do I find intercooler pipe hose fittings?
Posted by FlyinEsi, May-06-04 04:40 PM
I have some old cracking hose fittings on my I/C pipes, both upper and lower, mostly lower, (which is where I think I'm having boost leak problems from) but where can I just find intercooler pipe connector hoses?

I have the Big Greddy FMIC and Greddy I/C Piping.

Thanks

you could probably find a 3" to 4" adapter for an air filter for the turbo. i know BLITZ makes one. check ebay for an adapter. or like i said before, try SUMMIT RACING ... they have everything! 1-800-230-3030. the adapter would work tho.

I use Turbohoses.com... it's the best quality hose you can buy. Not all hoses are created equal.

if you want something cheap easy and good... NAPA
if you have one local, ask for thier radiator hose, its part number 637 639 etc the number depends on the size

I ran these and they also came with my kit, its easy to get and local
they are very good high pressure couplings, but i think over 15psi is a lil much for them who knows

they worked at 10.5lbs just fine

Try here. I got my X-Stream K&N from them.

EBAY is FILLED with silicone hose connector peices..

and about your air filter.. any autoparts places that carry K&N filters.. just order the dimensions you want.. K&N makes them up to 5" inlets I beleive. I was parosing their 'custom' section of the catalog for a standard rount type filter for my last TD.. was looking for a 5" inlet filter like 12"-18" long with a 7" diameter... they made them.. and even larger.. haha..

Yeah I use some heavy duty radiator hose pieces from NAPA. Its almost a 1/4" thick(ehh maybe a little less), and you will never rip/tear one of these things. They sell it by the foot, and is around 12 bucks for a foot. You can get it in 2", 2.25" for sure, possibly larger if you need it. I made about 3 couplers per foot, and then used Napa's "constant torque" heavy duty hose clamps..It will never leak..Much cheaper than silicone, and works just as good, if not better..Take a look at this pic, you can see the black hose pieces, and the hose clamp style i am using from Napa...
