I have autometer phantom boost gauge and it is not hooked up to read boost because the turbo is going in next weekend. The needle is sitting at -2 when it should be at 0 . What can I do to fix this?

I say plumb it to the intake manifold and see what readings you get at idle and WOT (should be "static" and at 0).

Hey Chris do you have any more of the nylon tubing for the boost gauge because when you took it out you cut it off so its short. Also shouldnt it be reading 0 as is when not hooked up?

I can pick some up at Autozone or something. It's like 5 bucks for the kit. It shouldn't be -2 but It hasnt been hooked up for a long time and I had no issues with it. Read perfectly. Maybe Saturday we can run that line and T it into the intake mani and see what she does. :thumbsup

yea -18hg at idle is purrfect, im pretty sure NA wont truly ever see 0 but im not exactly sure.

i have my boost gauge connected with the vac line running from the gauge through the firewall and into the manifold, no plastic shit...i just took the vac line on the boost gauge end and pretty much threaded it onto the gauge, it works great. that plastic line is ghey imo

Yeah, the autometer boost gauge I got with my HRC kit was totally messed up like that too, off by 4psi. I sent it in under warranty, and they sent me another one that was off by 2psi instead of 4psi.

After that, I just stuck a screwdriver in the lighting hole, and bent up the copper tubing inside the gauge until it read 0psi. That made it really close to accurate.

Then I sold it and bought a real boost gauge.

(HINT: For problems with any of HRC's other cheap components, just substitute "boost gauge" for whatever component you're having problems with.)

It's not the black faced Autometer that Hahn sends out.

Its a automet phantom series boost gauge and it isnt hooked up and is reading -2

I've come to the conclusion that Autometer gauges really do suck haha..I've had 2, maybe 3 boost gauges that have ALWAYS gotten out of whack..Mine now reads like 1/ 1.5 psi with the car off..how dumb..All that time I thouhgt I was running 13 psi, it was only like 11.5 to 12 haha..I just look at my laptop with the 8 injector setup software to check my kpa's, and convert that to psi..I'd just hate to change all my gauges, because I like having them all match..anyone know of any silver bezel, black face/white number gauges other than Autometer?? hehe..

had the same problem with autometer... i went with defi d-series... a much better gauge..

I plan on putting Isspro gauges in my truck.. either that is this damn cool combined 0-30psi boost and EGT gauge in one :thumbsup
