70023, lean?
Posted by xtrickedeclipsex, Apr-28-04 08:16 PM
well, tonight I hit my 500 mile break in so I got on it a little, im still gona be easy on it tell 1000 miles, but I wanted to see how she hold up under boost...I have it set around 7.5 psi, hit it down to the floor in second and I just start spinning my tires…so I go a little faster and try in third…no tire spin, but I noticed something weird…I hit it to the floor, then when I backed of just a LITTLE, the car went faster then it did when it was to the floor….

What could this mean?

when your not wot, your computer tryes to make an a/f ratio of like 13.7 so it leaned it out. if this happens, your prolly running rich.

my car did the same thing...do you have an a/f gauge or anything to tell you your a/f ratio. Mine was definately running lean at wot, but when i backed it off it richened it up and then it pulled really hard. btw, i am breaking in a newly rebuilt motor also, so good luck and have fun, and 15 psi, here we come...

yea i have my air/fuel gage, i havent hooked it up but today im going to, cuz im going to drive the car a little harder then normal....

so it could be eather...running to rich, or to lean...lol great

btw im on 310's so 8 psi it should be running rich, but we havent really be able to adjust my FPR cuz the motor is not broken in fully...so that could be it

When you back off your throttle your ecu will advance the timing a little more. That is probably why it's making more power. You are probably rich, F the a/f gauge. You need an EGT, the blinky a/f is crap.

how would he go about making the power more powerful at wot . adjust the a/f ratio ?

yea, most people at the shop are all guessing its running rich at w0t....I no the blinky shit, is...shit...lol...im wiring that up and the EGT comes friday i hope....

We have not be able to adjust the FPR do to the motor still being broken in...so i assume that once we get that down ...it should even things out a little

um... why would breaking in a new motor have anything to do with the fpr?

It does not do much good to blindly adjust the FPR without being able to tune it to WOT. I assume he means that they did not want to adjust it while he was breaking it in because long full throttle pulls couldn't be done.
