69966, E-Manage installed... a few problems Posted by neovb, Apr-28-04 06:49 AM
Okay so the e-manage went in pretty well. Set everthing up, I had the three rotary switches set to 8,2,A. Hooked up the laptop to the unit, and everything seemed to be okay. The car started up fine. Its getting good readings from the MAP, and the tach. Problem is, the injector pulsewidth settings dont seem to work. I wired them all in as such at the ECU:
Injector 1 -> Light Green/Black Injector 2 -> Yellow/Red Injector 3 -> Yellow/Green Injector 4 -> Light Green/Red Injector Ground -> Black/Red
Im not getting any readings whatsoever. Is there something that has to be adjusted in the software? Also, is there a way to hook up the TPS? There were no instructions on it, and I have no clue what wire out of the e-manage harness is the TPS. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, now Im getting an error code 37. Thats the error code for Incorrect Injector A pulse (Incorrect I/J Channel-A wire to e-manage unit). The car also cant idle and nearly dies every time you start the car.
I didnt touch anything from before.

All this info is on the main site and in the forums.
your settings are wrong. From what I remember you can use either 3 8 A or 3 C 1, not 8 2 A.
Also, for the injector wires, they are just supposed to be spliced into the existing injector wires. These are the wires that go to the ECU. the main + power wire for the injectors is tied into the alternator. This is the fat wire on the Stock injector harness. I don't remember splicing that wire. The injector ground needs to go to a good ground. I think I connected it to ECU ground. Recheck all your wiring, reset the rotary switches to what I stated, and make sure you choose the option for additional injector harness in the parameters window. late james

Okay, so I changed the rotary settings. The car seems to idle fine now. I also regrounded the injector ground wire to a solid ground. Now, it throws a code 21 - no reading from injector 1. I took the car apart and checked all the wiring... the wire seems to be connected fine. I soldered & taped all connections. Any ideas?

My settings now are 3-8-A. Didnt have time to check out the other setting, but I would think they wouldnt really affect the injector part of the ecu because they seem more like baseline settings... ie, sensor type, cylinder amount, etc.
