alright...im installing my fuel system..engine is already built and installed.... i want to run the car NT for the break in period and then add my turbo.... i bought by sfmu used, but i found these instructions.... first question, in the instructions it says "Approximately 2 or 3 inches from the SFMU, cut the vacuum hose and insert the supplied restrictor"...what restrictor...i didnt get one, do we need it? what the hell is it?
ok, next question... can i just insert a fuel pressure gauge into that port on my fuel rail...im a 95.... ive never had to deal with the fuel system before...
third question.... what should my fuel pressure be when im NT with 30# injectors.... and when i am turbo with 30# injectors....what else do i need to do.... how do i adjust the boost screw? i pretty much need a walk through for the whole thing.... thanks for the help..

another question....where in the hell do i get adapters for the -6 fitting? i need something to make that down to a 1/4" hose barb for the return line....am i missing something... if i got the ss braided lines, i still need it to go to 1/4"...im completely lost

I have the same exact question. What disc spring combo, right now I have the silver spring, and the 2nd disc I think, and do they come with a boost screw in them because mine didn't have one either, if anyone can answer these question we would really appreciate it.

a restrictor is basically a 1.5 inch thin cylindrical metal tube. One side has a bigger opening than the other side. I don't beleive it's really necessary as some guys have resorted to widening one side of it to match the other side which sorts of makes it obsolete, imo. I t'd off my fp guage between the fuel rail and the IN port of the SFMU. Idle pressure should be about 25psi for 30ibs.

so you dont think i need that restrictor? i could probably make one if i new what it needed to look like and what sizes it needed to be.... i still havent found any fittings for the damn SFMU... also, do i need to upgrade my fuel lines to higher pressure ones? thanks

ok, i got the car running, its idling like crap though.... i have the 30# in with the SFMU and 255 fuel pump.... i had a CEL that said system too rich.... i turned the screw on top of the SFMU, it raised the and lowered the fuel pressure, but it still idled like crap..... any help? am i missing something? how do you adjust the SFMU? would the disk that is in the SFMU matter if im not running boost? i should have the right one in there for the 30#, but just wondering? thanks

Your idle fp should be about 25psi. If it's idling like shit, lower the fp down a little bit and if you're still getting a rich code, just let it sit there running, so then that it could burn up all that excess fuel.

Wont matter which disc you are using at idle. Get a FP gauge.. also, make sure you dont have a vacuum leak anywhere (and make sure you hooked up the vacuum line to the SFMU).

i cant lower the fuel pressure...i have a gauge hooked up, but it wont go any lower than 30 psi.... im not even sure exactly how to lower the pressure, but ive tried everything on the sfmu....also, i was thinking there might be a vacuum leak, but where would it be? there is only three ports on the back of the engine, i didnt take my throttle body off of the intake, i did take the intake off, but i put sealent and put it back on.... my fuel return line is 1/4" rubber hose....(im a 95, so i just have the foot or so of fuel line to worry about.... any other reasons why i cant lower my fuel pressure? thanks

Are you still useing the stock fuel press reg??
Try hooking the vac line from the s-fmu right to the intake but not
t-ed into the stock fpr. just leave that disconnected.

no, i dismanteled the stock fuel regulator...i am actually t'd off of the air canister hose...

I hate hearing about all these stories of 95's with the early fuel system that can't lower fuel pressure. I don't know how many times people have had this issue. Did you follow Corbin's write up for disabling the stock FRP?
