69680, Which boost gauge should I trust?
Posted by mitsudsr, Apr-23-04 06:20 AM
I have an autometer one that is teeded off my sfmu and that is too a single port. And I have a profec b spec 2 (digital face) b/c teed to a bunch of other lines but it is not currently the controller I am using. The profec shows 3psi more boost than the auto meter gauge, and at arround 18psi that is a big deal. Before I had the autometer to a bunch of tees and the profec to the sfmu 1 tee. Then I swiched them to see if it would give the autometer a better signal, but it didnt I guess. Which one would you think to be more accurate? I would think the profec because it is digital but I am not sure. Any thoughts would be great thanks,
Patrick

hook them both up directly to the manifold then they should be the same. When they get tee'd off they're not as accurate.

I only got the 3 in the mani and 1 is the sfmu, 1 is the bov, and the last is an assortment of things that I dont care to much about. Thanks for the opinion though.

Autometer boost gauges inaccurately read a bit on the low side... about -10%

Wow really thanks Doug, I better turn it down then. The good news is that it looks like that means I have plenty of fuel. The bad news I hope I wasnt getting any detonation I cant check my timming right now. Hope I did not do any dammage. Thanks again

I was wandering the same thing... My boost gauge seems to read a bit lower then my avc-r also. It seems like the boost gauge will show around 5 psi when the avc-r is showing like .48 bar equaling roughly 7 psi which scares me. So I've just been workin off the avc-r just to be safe.
