yes, i've heard it all before... i have an automatic. now that were past that, someone today told me that i would not build up any boost in an automatic with out a stall converter. is this true, i have never heard anything like this before, so i would like to here from people with auto and turbo.

There are plenty of auto ppl here that are turbo. Trans cooler is on the top of your list though.

That's 100% false. From first-hand experience, I can tell you that a turbo system on an automatic is the best thing you can do to increase performance. I boosted over 20psi when I had an auto.

don't loose boost between shifts (or atleast very little) :D

the turbo pictured below is on my work truck with an auto tranny. I do have a bit of lag, but that's cause the turbo is so freaking huge. from a dead stop, punch the throttle to the floor, within 25ft or so the turbo will start boosting.. and boosting hard :thumbsup

10k @ 15psi and still no tranny issues.

Plus, if you grenade it, a new transmission costs about the same as the MTX guys spend on a new performance clutch! :thumbsup heheh

he was possibly meaning you wouldn't build any boost on the line before going unless you had a stahl converter.. but I didn't think manuals could build boost on the line either cause there isn't enough load on the motor... ?

I'm turbo and auto for just over 12k @ 5-10psi no issues (but then agian my trans is supposed to be bullet proof }(

I don't have a high stall and thats whats keeping me from being REALLY fast off the line. I'll kill from a roll tho :evilgrin
