So i finished the rebuild today and me and a friend did everything by the book, torque and everything. My problem is that i started her up and it runs and idles like complete ass. It just sounds like it is loping. Could anybody give any suggestions ASAP?

Check the timing. Might be off a tooth, it's easy enough to do when putting the belt back on.

even if is a tooth off, it would still run bad? should i try a timing light to check it?

Take off the timing belt cover and put her at TDC and check the timing marks.

I talked to a professional mechanic on the phone when I timed my car. He said with a belt you can off a/b 5 degrees (since they flex), any more than that and you are going to have problem. Chains are different story. My rebuild isn't done, so I don't how it's going to run, but I timed it as tight as I could get it.
