I just had a rebuild recently done and I wanted to ask a question on adding a 16g here shortly. The shop screwed up on the rebuild so they are paying for it due to it being covered under warranty. The repair is including a cylinder sleeve. My question is would the sleeve restrict any of the performance of a turbo???? I wouldnt think so but I am still relatively new to all this. TIA

To be honest I am not sure. I think its only the one cylinder because that's the only one that was damaged.

Could you find out?!? I've never heard of a sleeve for a 420a.

I have a block that could use a sleeve but I didn't think it was possible.

yes you could sleeve the motor however it will depend on if you have a bore over or not. Now "My understanding" is the sleeves will bring your cylinder bore back to stock but the sleeves from www.lasleeve.com state you could bore their sleeves for the pistons. you would just have to spend the money to machine the block. It gives you more info there. Hope this helps you.

From what i understand, sleeving is for aluminum blocks because the heat makes aluminum expand. But for our cast iron blocks, we dont need sleeves, the cylinders are drilled directly into the block.
