I've been searching and searching and have come up with nothing. Does anyone with the 420A have the large greddy intercooler?
I know it was made for the 4g63, so dont give me shit.
If anyone has pics or suggestions on where to mount the thing in front of the radiator with or without fab work, would be great. Or even any pics with the front bumper off with any kind of intercooler would be VERY helpful in determining where to run the piping. And yes, I know that I have to custom bend it.

I bought the greddy 24 intercooler from armond, it looks good. But i would not go this route. Not enough room, i had to cut half of my stock front bumber so it would fit. Also, since it has to be turned opposite from the 4g63, the piping that comes from the passenger side, will cause the intercooler to be pushed forward which is why i had to cut the front bumper. I am not saying it cannot be done, but believe me when i say it will need modifications and quite a bit. It fit armond's avenger b/c their front has more room and they have a different front bumper than the eclipse. I am going to be buying the HRC within the next 2 months, my car is being built now, i will try and get some pics to show you, if i get some i will email them to you since i dont know how to post them here.

don't be afraid to go nuts with an intercooler, you'll thank yourself later. the really big ones look awesome function just as well as they look.

the drawback to a big FMIC is that you have to pretty much take off the bumper support structure, cutting it away is a joke because if you take that route you'll end up taking so much of it away there's no way it can still function at all. the only thing to worry about is having an InterBumper instead of a Bumper. the FMIC soon becomes the first thing to go... i'm 19 and i've never been in any accidents, and i have a FMIC, you just have to be really careful i guess.

oh yeah... the bumper support structure functions as a support for the bumper cover. when you take it off it won't fit as good as stock because there's this place under the headlights where the bumper cover gets held into place by the support structure.

It functions well, but the hrc fmic is the best route to go other than starion fmic and others that have both inlet and outlet on the drivers side of the intercooler, whatever route you go, having a fmic will look good and you can't go wrong with having one.

I've got the Stillen front bumper, I know it has to be cut, without a doubt. I want to keep the bumper support only because I would rahter that get hit tenths of seconds before anything else, as it provides *some* cushioning before anything else.
I already bought the greddy intercooler, and I decided on it way back when, and I'll do pretty much ANYTHING to MAKE IT WORK! I dont want to sound conceeded, but money isnt an object for fab work, which is why I asked if anyone had any fab done. I'd rather bolt it to where its supposed to go, or approx go, but as long as it works it works.
90% of the turbo is hooked up, looks like sex, imo. just need a little bit of intercooler info and I will be boosted on a VT built engine!!

That's extremers setup for some reference for the custom brackets.
As a point of reference, the hrc one bolts to the foglight brackets. I guess you can bend so sheet metal and have those screw into the foglight brackets, then weld the brackets to the IC. Also, as some point of reference, my my hrc fmic is right close to the powersteering cooler line infront of the radiator to the point where the powersteering line bent some of my IC fins at the back of the IC. The FMIC is that close to the body of the eclipse. Goodluck! Post some pics.


As for the front bumper support, I am in favor of keeping it even though it is barely functional in an accident that way I cut it (It pretty much lost 40% of its mass after the modification) since with out it, I have HUGE gaps between the headlights and the bumper.

I think if I kept the black lip, then I would not have cut soo much but I wanted the most airflow coming into my radiator. However, I figure with the bumper support useless in a crash, I think that the *extra* stuff I added has to add some protection in a bad accident (fmic, pipes, iron manifold, turbo!). :)

Sorry to tell you this, but you are going to have to get rid of the bumper support. No matter how much money anyone has, there is no fab work that can get that big intercooler on without removing the bumper support. The intercooler is big, i have one on now, the bumper support just took up most of the room where the ic needed to be installed at. You will probably be fine installing it since you can have someone fab something for you and since you have a stillen front bumper. Money is no issue for me either, but where i live it is hard to get someone to fab and help install this big ic b/c the majority is muscle cars. Good luck, hope everything goes smooth, get some pics when your done, i know it is gonna look bad ass, at least i think it will since it looks good on mine.

^^^ My advice, BTW, applies only to HRC fmic :).

What's the core of the greddy one anyway? If it is that big, I can safely assume that it would add some protection (as in better than nothing) in an accident.

^^^ DAMN, how low to the ground is that IC pipe that comes off the bottom of the intercooler? I give it a couple hundred miles before you rip that coupler open on something.

It is possible to keep your bumper support with the big Greddy, but you'll at least have to trim it. Even the 4g63 guys have to trim it to make it fit.

Just try and install it and get us some pics, it can be done, it just takes some time and patience to mount everything and customize the piping.

Ok I have the Greddy IC mounted on the car. Now I need the pipe that comes from the intake manifold to the IC with the BOV piece on it.. Does anybody know where I can get one?? I will post pics as soon as I get everything hooked up..

It's called the UICP or upper intercooler pipe. HRC makes a 2.5" one with a generic bung that you can weld a greddy BOV flange to easily. You can also grab any metal cold air intake like an AEM v1 for a nonturbo since you've gotta fabricate it all anyways. The hard part is that 90* bend between the battery and throttlebody. Hacking the rest up is just a matter of simple bends.

Post pix of front, above, and below where the Greddy IC outlets sit and we might be able to come up with something that's somewhat premade. Plus I'm sure lots of us are drooling to see the biggie G FMIC on a 2gnt ;)

I think I'd turn the Greddy FMIC upside down (you'll need to re-weld the mounting brackets or fabricate a huge retrofit bracket) and attempt to run all your IC piping through the factory airbox location. On a 4g63:
