ok I have a vortech fmu currently installed on my 99 so on the 99's the fmu is under the car by the right back wheel. my question is can i just unhook the fmu and replace is with the sfmu and also do i need to disable the stock fpr? is there and written directions on how to install the sfmu on a 99 anywhere? anyone advice is greatly appreciated. thanks

Pull off the return line and FMU. Take out the filter/FPR assembly. Unscrew the FPR from that assembly and fill the hole with JB weld and let it dry. Replace the FPR in the hole and put the FPR/fuel filter assembly back on the car, without the return line connected. Screw the SFMU into the firewall in the engine bay. Remove the schraeder valve from the test port on the fuel rail. Run a fuel line from the fuel rail to the IN port on the SFMU, the fitting on the fuel rail is -4AN. Run a fuel line from the SFMU to the return line inlet on the tank. Run a vacuum line from the manifold to the vacuum port on the SFMU. You want the SFMU accesible so you can adjust things.

I would not put the SFMU under the car either..Just think of all the crud that gets under there, and also for ease of adjustment, not to mention running a vac line all the way back..just not a good idea IMO. Put it in the engine bay. Just fully remove the stock FPR, its connected to the fuel filter outlet. Then, find a NPT fitting that screws into the fuel filter outlet, with a hose barb on the opposite end. Connect a fuel line to this barb, then connect the other end of the fuel line to the stock feed line. Most of us just push up on the stock feed line fitting, as far up onto the feed line as you can, and put the rubber hose onto that, and double clamp it down. If you are using an inline fuel pump, it should go in between the fuel filter outlet, and the stock feed line. Then, get a -4 AN to hose barb fitting for the stock fuel rail test port, then run a return line from the test port,to the SFMU IN port(on the side of the SFMU), and then on the bottom port on the SFMU, the return line back to the gas tank return fitting(you should have taken off the stock rubber line that connected to this). You can access this fitting under the rear seat, remove the metal cover held on by 4 phillips head screws...Thats about it..
