right now i have a pretty well stock motor with 50k miles, runs great, etc. my questions are: what exactly should i look into doing/building on my motor in order to run 10-12 lbs. of boost on a daily basis(down time of building the motor not being an issue)? second question, how much should i be prepared to spend in doing this? third question, would it be better to go ahead and buy the turbo kit and take it with me to the shop i choose to build my motor so they know exactly why they are building it? now having asked that, i know that alot of you are going to say to put the turbo kit on now and build later, ummm no. 12 lbs of boost on stock internals has got to be a no no.

greengs- Do pistons rods and rings of course. HRC would have you do that and thee layered head gasket because that is all that is done to their 11 second eclipse. Hard to believe huh. Um, heres are some additional things that you could do that would make your engine more bulletproof:
1: O-ring the block (about $100)
2: aftermaket head stud kit

Performance:
1:Port and match both intake and exhaust manifolds($70-80 guess)

I didnt do these things because i didnt have enough $ to do every thing i wanted to do. The head stud kit is good because it replaces the studs that connect your block and head. The aftermarket studs you choose will have more threads on them which will make a tighter seal and less possibility for leaking.

O-ringing. Head gaskets will get heated up and pushed out so they will not be flush around the cylinder walls. O-ringing prevents this from happening via a step that the machingist grinds into the wall. They add a thin wire to your head gasket to fit into that step which makes it dam imposible to move.

if you were going to boost 12 lbs., would you use the HRC kit or the STAR kit with bb E trim? do any of these kits have wastegate springs that will allow 12 lbs or more? both kits come with a fuel system upgrade but the hrc kit is only inline and the star kit replaces factory, is the star pump good for 12 lbs boost? do any of these kits replace factory injectors?
