Hey what's up fellas. I've been having problems with the nuts on the manifold (turbo to manifold nuts) getting loose. What's up with this. I didn't really care before but I'm tired of going under my hood after every drive to check/tighten them. I put leak locks, thread locks and everything. It won't hold! Is there any special nuts and washers you guys use. This usually happens after I take a ride in the highway or after I beated on the car. But I know some of y'all beat on your car and the nuts dont get loose. So what's up with this. Give me some ideas what you guys think I should do. Thanks.

Make sure your downpipe is bracketed and secured correctly. Are you using the OEM downpipe thats cut or what?

Nah I aint using the stock downpipe. I welded the HRC half-pipe and my old downpipe. It might just be that the downpipe is loose. I'm gonna check that first thing tomarrow. I've just been to busy to take a jack and look under there.

sounds to me like yea....when you boost it puts torque on the front of the motor, and if you downpipe isnt secured to well it'll jiggle...and bolts dont like to jigglew for to long before they get loose :P a LOT of people have problems with the manifold to head hex bolts that HRC provides (i myself had a HUGE PITA with them...ask skrilla, we got owned) if you dont have 4g63 8mm manifold studs i'd get em...but anyway, thats besides the point.... this is what i do to keep nuts locked, but not locked so i cant get em off....i use a drop of loctite on the base of the stud and then some antiseize on the rest of it.

also i'd get an exhasut strap or something from napa and just bolt up that downpipe to the frame somehow. theres some little bolts under there holding in the heat shield...i just took those off, took metal exhasut hanger shit...cut it, bolted it up. my downpipe doesnt move.

you'll want to pick up a set of exhaust studs/nuts from RRE... (made for 4g63) someone needs to confirm this for me, I have the same problem, but only on one hole...
too poor to try it out right now... lol

also, if you ever have issues with your wastegate rattling off as I have... just get lock-washers from Home Depot... works well so far

Oh no, my stud (manifold to head) is locked tight. I have no problem with them. I bought 4G63 studs and now they're fine. The problem I'm having now is just the 4 bolts connecting to the turbo. But I guess it is the downpipe shaking thats causing the problem. I'm going to have some brackets welded onto the pipe so secure it. Where did you guys weld the bracket to? What part of the pipe? B/c if I do weld it on and in the future I want to take off my turbo, I wouldn't be able to remove it.
